Trendy and Colorful Gladiator Shoes

Trendy and Colorful Gladiator Shoes

Were you a fan of ancient Greek mythology? How about those old sword-and-sandal Synbad and Hercules movies? If so, you can enjoy at least a bit of the ancient world by buying a pair of gladiator shoes.

That’s right, these shoes are exactly what their name suggests: They’re footwear that looks exactly like something you’d see donning the feet of the actors and actresses in the classic Hollywood Ben-Hur movie.

You don’t have to be an extra in one of these old Hollywood epics, though, to enjoy gladiator shoes or, as they’re also known, gladiator sandals. A growing number of people are wearing these shoes today for two reasons: They’re comfortable, and they’re fun.

Focus on the comfort, first. It doesn’t matter how stylish a shoe is. If it isn’t comfortable, you shouldn’t be wearing it. Podiatrists agree that uncomfortable shoes can lead to frequent foot pain and even to more severe foot ailments that could eventually require surgery.

Fortunately, gladiator sandals not only look good, they’re easy on your arches, too. Just make sure you buy a quality shoe. There are gladiator shoes out there that carry price tags that are astonishingly low. Generally, these gladiator sandals will provide less comfort, and are the ones that will cause foot problems later on. It’s true with many things, and it’s true for buying footwear, too; you get what you pay for.

Of course, these shoes wouldn’t be nearly as popular if comfort was the only positive that they had going for them. There is a whole bunch of comfortable shoes out in the market. The reason gladiator sandals are gracing the feet of so many consumers today is because they’re quite cool.

If you wear a pair of gladiator shoes to a party, you’re certain to attract more than a few glances. If you wear them to a restaurant opening, Broadway play or even to your office, you’ll certainly nab some attention.

Most people are used to boring shoes. They’re surprised whenever they come across footwear that’s fun or whimsical. That’s why people are so attracted to these shoes: They’re different. They’re quirky. And they’re rather stunning.

You can find gladiator shoes easily today, too. Simply type the phrases “gladiator shoes” or “gladiator sandals” into your favorite search engine. You’ll turn up countless online retailers eager to sell you a pair of these trendy shoes.

Scan the Web homes of these retailers and you’ll quickly discover that gladiator shoes come in a wide variety of colors, styles and price points. This is good news for you: It means that there is almost certainly a gladiator sandal out there that’s perfect for you.

Ditch those boring flats, heels or leather shoes. Instead, grab a bit of old-world feel with a new pair of gold gladiator shoes.

Jimmy Choo Gladiator Sandals

Jimmy Choo Gladiator Sandals

If you’ve ever dreamed of going back through time and space to some romantically distant place, do yourself a favor.  Go out today, no right NOW, and buy yourself a pair of gladiator shoes or gladiator sandals.  Listen, I just had one of the BEST dreams of my life.  Unfortunately it was just a dream though, but good enough that as soon as I tell you about it I think I will go back to sleep for a while.  It felt so real!  The only thing I know for sure is that when I woke up my metallic gold gladiator sandals that I picked up on sale at Old Navy the other day were still sitting beside the tub.

Now here’s what happened.  I had a HORRIBLE day at work.  I’d been on my feet for 12 hours and my stress level was through the roof.  When I get home, I kick off my heels, tear off my clothes, grab my terry robe and gladiator sandals and jump in the sauna.  I guess I must have drifted off because suddenly I was in an ancient Roman bath floating in water scented with oils and rose petals.  My handmaiden was combing through my hair and I was just sooooo relaxed.  I happen to open one eye and there beside the pool were two pair of mens gladiator sandals attached to the most marvelously muscular men’s legs you can imagine.  My eyes wander up and it’s Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson straight out of the Gladiator, complete in Roman togas and gladiator shoes!  Startled to find men in a women’s bath I jump up.  That must have been when I awoke.  But, it got me to thinking….

Did you ever notice how what you wear can kind of alter your personality?  Well, I happen to LOVE gladiator shoes, any kind, any price and any style.  I have this one summer dress that I always wear with a pair of Michael Antonio calf length gladiator sandals.  I feel like Xena the Warrior Princess whenever I wear that outfit, ready to do battle and grab the man of my dreams.  I also have a pair of knee high gladiator sandals by Chanel but they are a bit more expensive and when you see me wearing them you KNOW I’m about to launch a serious conquest campaign!  Then I have an inexpensive pair of gladiator shoes that I picked up on sale at Payless just for everyday wear.  (Nothing catches my eye like a gladiator sandals sale ad!)

I’ve bought high heeled gladiator shoes at Overstock dot com and flat leather gladiator sandals at Zappos dot com.  I mean you name it and I’m right there shopping.  The only thing I haven’t purchased yet is a pair of mens gladiator sandals or gladiator boots.  I guess that’s because I’ve yet to find a shop that includes Russell Crowe in the package.  But let me tell you this right here and now.  If I ever do find such a store you can bet my entire closet will be filled with mens gladiator shoes.  And that’s a promise!
